Welcome to the monthly rewind post

SOCIAL

September was a slow month compared to the last few summer months full of social activities. I love September as it signifies the start of a new season and many changes that are going to come in the upcoming months. It is the start of fall and the slow but impending winter that will be here before we know it.

We only had one wedding to attend the first week of September (the last of the weddings, yay!).  I love a good wedding but 4 in 3 months is bit much. The wedding was held in Dundas, Ontario at Drymens Farm (check spelling and link). The venue was beautiful, The ceremony was outside overlooking the Niagara region. All of the guests got a wagon ride to the ceremony which was pretty neat and then we either walked or took a wagon ride back to the reception site. It was neat as it was covered but it was outside. The groom and the bride looked fantastic and we all had a great time dancing the night away. It was a bit chilly in the evening and I didn’t bring a jacket so it made for a cold end of the night.

We also went apple picking at the end of September with my sister and her husband, my husband and my son. We had a blast picking apples and munching on all of the different types. My favorite is Honey Crisp but all of the other ones are great too. We picked a few pumpkins to make pumpkin pie with and enjoyed a wagon ride to the site. My son enjoyed running around and riding on the wagon. It was good to go this years as we missed going last year due to timing and other things happening at that time.

I love fall as it offers so many great things. Book festivals, apple and pumpkin picking, wagon rides, and endless amounts of coffee, flavoured or regular. The colors of the leaves on the trees start to change into beautiful ones. Reds, yellows, oranges.  There is nothing better than hiking in the woods and looking at all of the beautiful colors and breathing in the crisp fall air.  Another great benefit is in the nighttime you can smell the wood burning somewhere and I love that smell! Fall is a great season that helps us adjust from the summer to the winter. It lets us enjoy nature with hot beverages, sweaters and reading books by a fireplace. What’s better than that?

Side Hustle

Side hustling was slow or more like non- existent this month. This is the lowest that it has been since I started to track it back in May. It makes me cringe and want to get it back to being at least $500. I think I just got burned out with everything happening on the calendar for the last few months. There are a few things that happened in September but won’t be paid until October so I am not counting it here. I am trying to figure out a way to bring income through the blog but I know that it will take time. In the meantime I have signed up for a few more focus group and survey companies to help with the side income.

Fitness

I haven’t really done anything with fitness in quite a while. I am setting a goal for myself to lose 15lbs by Dec 1 which is pretty reasonable. I will have 2-3 weeks as padding as I know that Thanksgiving is around the corner. I have also finally signed up for a Runbet so I will write about that once I have completed it. I have done a few runs and so far it is going good. It is a slightly different set up than Step Bet but similar concept.

Goals for October

Financial – Bring in $500 side income

Fitness– Exercise 2x a week, complete Runbet. Lose 8lbs this month
